Connell Bros. Co. Taiwan was established in 1955 as a distributor of manufacturing machinery. As the Connell brand established itself in the local market, Tong Hsing Enterprise, a local import/export trader, was recruited to represent CBC in Taiwan, starting in 1962. The business was mainly in machinery--often for government project tenders--and also started trading in chemicals at that time. Over the years, the business grew, as did the company’s focus on specialty chemicals distribution. In November 1992, Connell Bros. and Tong Hsing decided to form a joint venture to serve this market as a consolidated entity.

CBC, the major shareholder in this venture, is a leading specialty chemical distributor in Taiwan, representing world class principals in the Taiwan market. We are able to offer ready stock out of our centrally located warehouse in Taoyuan, about 15 kilometers south of Taipei.

With the increasing importance of sourcing from Asia, CBC Taiwan is also involved in sourcing chemicals from Taiwan for customers around the world.
